EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Aquent (2009 to present)
Web Designer – Contractor
I provide web design and development services to clients of Aquent including CSU Global and E-College (Pearson) on an as needed basis.
My current assignment is creating online courses for CSU Global, the online division of Colorado State University. This is a detail-oriented project inputting course information into a web-based system (Blackboard) as well as taking content provided by CSU in Microsoft Word documents and converting the materials to XHTML and CSS. With each course I am tasked with finding appropriate graphics in various online media libraries, the embedding of Flash, YouTube videos and PowerPoint presentations, and creating layouts for each course which will provide a dynamic and exciting learning environment for the students.
I also developed a workflow tracking document to make completing each course easier and reduce errors for myself and other contractors.
Fireball Creative / Imaginative Media Group (2008 to present)
Web Designer & Developer – Contractor
I provide a variety of graphic design and web development related services depending on the needs of the client. Projects have varied greatly including: simple business card websites, logo creation, online databases, and sophisticated e-commerce stores.
Projects generally follow the pattern of providing a Photoshop rendering of design possibilities, followed by converting the approved design into a web standards compliant (WC3) website built using CSS and XHTML. I have also been provided artwork by clients to turn into a website.
Several projects have also included the use or manipulation of PHP, ASP, Coldfusion and MYSQL.
Some of the more interesting projects I’ve built include:
- http://www.cprinc.biz – uses CSS based dropdown menu for fast loading and better SEO
- http://www.jbklandscape.com – JavaScript accordion navigation menu
- http://www.ronwilsoncreationscapes.com – uses Flash, OsCommerce shopping cart
